What is Executive Coaching ?

It’s a process of making you aware- of your strengths, values, behaviors, skills, biases, limitations and potential.

Once you are stuck in your career, it’s almost impossible to become unstuck on your own. The idea is to equip you to become unstuck and self-reliant. It’s about speeding up that process of independence and self-regulation. That’s where coaching comes in.

The coach will assist you think deeply about the career results you really want. The coach will help you in re prioritizing your goals so that you can focus and achieve results in your career.

The coaching process will give you the essential tools for change and will help overcome your fears.

What it is not

It isn’t a form of counseling or therapy, which are often backward looking.

Most executive coaches are not mental health professionals hence they can’t deal with barriers to success that are rooted in mental health. In certain clients, without addressing underlying mental health challenges, the benefits of executive coaching will be limited at best.

A coach cannot get into your mind and flick a switch so that you suddenly become self-confident, self-aware etc.  

It is not mentoring. Mentoring is longer term, has a wider scope and is a directional initiative, usually from a domain expert where the mentor tells you what to do.

The goal of coaching is not to “fix” problem employees.

Why Binod ?

Often as an employee Binod has struggled to find direction, success and/or fulfillment and over 17 years he learnt a lot from those battles.

As an ex-Finance Director and ex- CEO, Binod has an intimate understanding of the mindset of senior professionals- the backgrounds, strengths, values, behaviors, biases and limitations.

As a first-generation entrepreneur, Binod learnt of the big differences between Employee and Entrepreneur the hard way and became intimately aware of the challenges and requirements of running your own company.

Although he left corporate life years ago, Binod is a mentor to dozens of his former CFA students who are senior professionals, many of whom come to him for advice in navigating the mid-career crisis, moving to the C suite etc. That gives him useful insight into the management landscape.

As a result of all the above, Binod decided to focus on a niche and hence he chose to coach those aspiring to (or already in) leadership positions.
