Is there a standard approach?

The concepts, principles and techniques of coaching are universal and it’s how they are applied to each situation that’s different. Binod starts with the Foundation (core beliefs, core values and traits) with all his clients. Once that clarity has been achieved, Binod focuses on the specific goal/s that you want to achieve.

What if I don’t know my goals?

Binod will help you set your goals. Certain elements of the Foundation will drive and also clarify your goals and even specific careers and Binod will discuss the options with you, each with its Pros and Cons. It can be quite an exciting and revelatory journey.

What if I also need mentoring?

A coaching session is almost never 100% coaching or 100% mentoring. Coaching and mentoring are valuable tools that a coach uses when appropriate. Sometimes with a client Binod may question and listen (coaching) and sometimes he go into domain expert mode and instruct (mentoring), depending on the situation.

How long does it take?

Behavioural change takes time and effort compared to learning a skill like accounting, financial analysis or presentation. Because unlike learning skills you have to look inside, unlearn, re learn and practice. It also depends hugely on how motivated you are to change. Binod usually recommends at least six sessions of regular coaching to start seeing meaningful results.
